We like to put things in a box. No not just literally but metaphorically. We've all at some point or another suffered from being categorized and or stereotyped by other people who just couldn't quite "figure us out." Sometimes people who can't fully understand you might put you in a small little cardboard box (metaphorically speaking of course) to fit their reality of understanding. It's not that you're a phenomenon. It may just be because your personalities clash. Maybe they just straight up don't like you.
Yet it would be impossible to figure each other out. When was the last time you were able to read someone's thoughts? When was the last time you were in fact confident in the exact number of hairs that are on the top of someone's head? Unless of course......they're bald. (insert laugh here)
We weren't created to have someone totally figured out. We weren't created to understand everything nor were we created to solve all problems. What I'm saying is that we aren't God. We weren't designed with the omniscience that God has. He knows all, sees all, created all and is all. Yet because of our humanity, we naturally try to make sense of things that we do not understand.
This goes hand in hand with our view of who God is. We try to make sense of God by putting Him in these small little cardboard boxes (metaphorically speaking of course) housed within our imaginations. Because God can never fully be understood, we try to bring His essence back down to the level of our own understanding of things. Sometimes we don't even acknowledge Him as God. Like it must be something else right? There must be some other force that could make logical sense of everything right?
Like the big bang. I mean seriously who speaks and the world and the moon just pop up out of nothing? Or better yet how could it even be a who? What is it that makes all of this happen? Oh wait I got it all figured out. The universe....
The answer to all of these questions are quite simple yet so vast. That answer is not a What nor a Thing but a He. That answer is God.
No I get it. It still doesn't make sense. Like how could any of this come into any form of existence without some logical explanation through science?
Well if you don't mind, let me propose to you my belief.
I believe that God, intelligent and all knowing as He is, used His mind to think all of this up before He created it. And then, with the speech of His mouth created everything as you see it now. But here's where things get a little interesting. See He thought you and I would be so dope if we were made in His all powerful image, so He scooped up the dust of the earth, breathed His breath into the body and said, "I think I'll call Him Adam". Just a little bit of time passes by and here comes you! It took a minute but here you are, living and breathing.
You are God's dream! He thought about you even before He made all this stuff (and by stuff I mean amazing stuff), and He called you out by name. He chose you out of all of the other versions of you He could’ve created. That's because He loves you. This God who loves you intended for you to be in relationship with Him. Yeah I know. You messed up. Adam messed up. But our mess ups, sins, flaws and all can't keep Him in a little cardboard box. He provided a bridge for that relationship as well. And that is through His only son....Jesus.
