the way

the way

In this lesson we will be discovering the Truth of how Jesus is the only way to God and access to eternal life.

Lesson Verses:
Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. |John 10:9
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. | John 1:14
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. | John 11:25
·         Question 1: What do you think Jesus means in John 10:9 when He says that He is the gate? If Jesus is the gate, what do you think it is that we are entering into?

In John 1:14, it goes on to say that the Word became human and made his home among us. The Word that this scripture is referring to is Jesus Christ. Jesus was with God in the beginning before time, foretold by the prophets in the Old Testament as the one who will come to save the world from their sins. In this context “Word” can simply mean promise or revealing. God’s word is was that He would send a savior to save the world. God’s word was bond. The literal Word that He promised came in human flesh thus revealing the full nature of God in human form.
·         Question 2: Since Jesus Christ is the Word, why would He go through the process of becoming a human?

·         Question 3: Jesus states that He is the resurrection in John 11:25. What do you think Jesus meant by this statement?

So there are 3 key terms I want you to think about after reading these 3 verses; The Way, The Truth and The Life. Jesus is the Way, The Truth and The Life. So let’s break this down by each title.
1.      Jesus is The Way to salvation
2.      Jesus is The Truth of the fullness of God becoming a man
3.      Jesus is The Life; the access to eternal life after death
Let’s elaborate on the last title. Because we have believed we shall live again because Jesus made the way by becoming flesh which is The Truth be it that He is the son of the Father and because of His resurrection, we will be resurrected with Him! Jesus is the example of what we will be when we are raised to life in His second coming.
Ultimately, our destination is eternal life, nut in order to get there we have to believe, trust and accept Jesus who made the way for us!
When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. | John 14:3
Pray this prayer
Lord God thank you for being the way. Thank you for stepping down from your throne and becoming a human just like me. Thank you for knowing what it feels like to be human. And ultimately, thank you for taking on all of my sin, dying and resurrecting so that I may have access to your eternal promise of everlasting life. I pray that I continue to grow in my relationship with you. I also pray that if there are others that do not know you that they would come into a relationship with you. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray. Amen.

Gifted

You were gifted with a gift.  You were created with a passion Designed for a purpose, not for form or fashion. You were gifted with a gift Bigger than your mistakes It waits in eager anticipation Your purpose never waits. You were gifted with a gift The time is now The world needs your story But the question is how? You were gifted with a gift Yet the gift may be hidden It seems nonexistent  Almost bed ridden. You were gifted with a gift It's time to bring it to life It may seem irrelevant But someone needs your light. You were gifted with a gift Your life He did save Your sins washed away Your purpose doth made. I know you've been slept on It was all for a reason But hear me when I say Tomorrow is your season. So for today fear not For growth takes time For now, use what you got In His Will, you'll be just fine.

treasure

treasure In this lesson we will be examining the heart as it relates to the treasure of a person’s heart. Lesson Verse: A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. | Luke 6:45 ·          Question 1 : What is treasure? Treasure is anything that you value. It becomes treasure when it is stored or kept away in secret. The focus of this scripture is pointing out the treasures of our hearts. These are the things that we have stored within our minds. These are the things that we value, show concern for, like, dislike, etc. They are ultimately your heart’s desires. ·          Question 2 : What are some things that are near and dear to you?
