But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
We all go through this season called "waiting". Waiting for the next big thing. Within that waiting there comes a time where things become a little stagnant and we begin to question the purpose of this season. It's a time where life becomes redundant. The days become less and less significant, and we often get caught up in the routine of this thing called life. It's pointless. We ask why. Why are things still the same? Why hasn't anything changed. What's life's significance? What's even the point of existing?God puts us in these seasons for a reason. I believe that God puts us in these seasons because He wants to prepare us for our next season. He wants to prepare us for our next level spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Yet we will never be able to even be aware of the next season if we view the dry season through the wrong lens of perspective.
Our perspective must be anchored in God's promises.
- "All Things Are Working For Our Good" (Romans 8:28)
- "Sow In Tears, Reap In Joy" (Psalm 126:5)
- "Nothing Shall Separate Us From God's Love" (Romans 8:38)
- "A Hope And A Future" (Jeremiah 29:11)
The list goes on and on. Once we anchor our perspective to the promises of God, we can look t the dry season through a better lens.
It is imperative that we use our time wisely during the waiting season. In fact, God often uses the season of waiting in order for us to do some growing. Actual transformation. What you do during your waiting season matters. The question now is, what will you learn? How will you spend your time? Will you seek God's face? Will you pray? Will you read God's Word? Will you exercise your faith muscles?
Yes, these are a lot of questions, but they are questions we should ask ourselves. Because the waiting season isn't just a season, but a preparation for the next and better thing God has for you. Endure.
